One of the greatest misconceptions that players at the online, mobile and land based casino consistently believe is that a prior outcome will have an effect on a subsequent result. So, a player who is enjoying a game of online roulette may see the ball land in the black hole again and again and may rush to make a very large wager on only the red holes on the following bet as he is convinced that it is now time for the red hole to come up. However, in reality, the prior outcomes have absolutely no effect of any upcoming results, the probability of the ball landing in either a red or a black hole remains at a 1/2.  Maths has always been an integral part of gaming. This does not mean that players need to use complex mathematical strategies such as betting on only prime numbers when playing. This incidentally has been proven to be an ineffective gaming strategy when used in the game of roulette. However, it does help to have a basic understanding of probabilities before beginning to play. If we take the example of the roulette wheel, we know that the wheel is divided in such a way so that there are 18 black holes, 18 red ones and two green holes (in the American version of roulette) If a players wants to know what his expected value will be for every game played if he is betting a dollar on red, he can work out that he has an expected value of 2/38. By working out the expected value, the player can then decide which of the casino games are most balanced in his favour. The more strategy that the game allows, the higher the expected value of the player will be. A game such as poker has a higher expected value as there is a greater element of skill that a player can use.  Other ways to help maximise your gaming experience is to make sure that you are well rested before beginning to play and that you have engaged in some mind sharpening exercise such as a challenging maze before you begin your session.
